Brittneyrose Torres, 26, is currently carrying triplets for another couple. She told the New York Post she and the biological parents agreed from the beginning of the pregnancy they would not abort any of the babies unless it was a life-or-death situation and now Torres is refusing to abort the third triplet despite the parents asking her to.
Torres is under contract with the parents and was set to receive at least $30,000. The parents claim the contract specifies they have the right to order Torres to get an abortion and they have reportedly halted some of her payments since she refused five weeks ago.
Torres decided to become their surrogate after she saw the sister of the biological mother write on Facebook about how the couple couldn’t have kids. The parents initially “seemed excited” about the triplets (two twin boys and one girl), Torres told the Post, but recently, she says the parents demanded she abort the healthy female fetus. Torres is now 17 weeks pregnant.
“I told her I couldn’t abort one of the children,” Torres explained to the post. “I could not emotionally and physically do that at nearly 13 weeks. I believe it will be killing this baby.”
