It’s a sunny Saturday afternoon. You’re at the reception of a wedding ceremony (of course you purposely avoided going to the church, based on” food tinzz”) and everybody is looking fly. Beautiful dresses, 6-inches-high heels, amazing hairstyles, lovely colognes and more. Typical owambẹ.
So you’re busy “trying” to eat your amala and ewedu with the knife and fork when this tall, light-skinned, coke-bottle-shaped lady walks into the hall rocking a lovely-looking baby pink iro and buba.

She’s wearing a black suede high heel with a blue purse to match. No headgear but her neck is adorned with the most beautiful set of beads you’ve ever seen. More like the most beautiful set of blue beads you’ve ever seen. It is thick but yet so well arranged and looks so amazing. The same bead is on her wrist… and is part of her earrings too! “Must have cost her a fortune,” you say to yourself. Luckily for you, she can’t find any other seat so she squeezes herself into the one next to you. Long story short, you take a picture of the collection: the neck beads, the ones on her wrist and the earrings too.
Now you’re wondering, “How much can these collection cost?” “Where did she even get something this beautiful?” But you forgot to ask her. Too bad.

To the latter question, there are two possible answers: She either bought it or she MADE it herself.
Let’s assume she bought it. With the description above, how much do you think it would have cost her? ₦5,000? ₦10,000 maybe? Okay. Let’s say ₦10,000. What if she made it herself? What if she knows how to make beads, went to the market, got the materials she needed and made that masterpiece all by herself? If she did, then she only spent N3,000.

Which would you rather do? Buy your beads or make your own beads?

Before you answer, aren’t you wondering how I came up with that price? Who am I to just spit out numbers?
Well, my name is Margaret Daramola, owner of Margiiee Creations and I make beads for a living. Let’s just say I know enough about beads to teach you how to become a Bead Expert. You’re probably thinking that’s a huge promise for someone to make. You’re right. But instead of bragging, let me ask you: Who better to teach you how to drive: One who has only watched others do it or the one who has watched others do it, practised what he learnt, and has driven many cars?

You’re right.

I’ve watched legends make beads, practised what I learnt, made great beads (and some terrible ones), and even sold some of them successfully. Yeah, I have 😉
But learning it wasn’t easy. No it wasn’t. Most people offering to teach charged very high rates and ended up not teaching me anything at all. It was like the driving school you attended for two weeks and you ended up worse than you started.

So, I decided to make my own researches, working tirelessly and making sure to learn most of the tricks in the textbook. I made my first bead two days after I had stuffed my head with all I could about beads. I sold my first bead 3 days later. Not so hard eh?

Now back to the question I asked earlier:

Which would you rather do? Buy your beads or make your own beads?

If you’re still having difficulties with making up your mind – which I doubt – here’s a couple of points that should help you make up your mind:

Freedom of Style: Imagine that your close friend is getting married. And you know, with Nigerian weddings come weird colours. So the colour picked for the wedding is “Ojuelegba Pink” and “Acid Blue” (lol let your imagination run wild my friend). As a lady, you’d like to wear to-match now, you know 😉 So you decide you’re going to wear a V-shaped, acid blue sturdy necklace. You set out to hunt for your dream necklace but you don’t get it. Now imagine if you knew how to make beads…

Saves Money: Let’s say you eventually get these beautiful beads for a very high price because you’ve already told the seller how hard you’ve been looking for it and how important the bride is to you. Can you compare the amount you’ll spend on buying the necklace with the amount you’ll spend on getting the materials for the necklace and making it yourself?

Saves Time: Imagine if you made the bead yourself instead of spending the whole day in the market looking for your dream beads.
I’m sure you’ve must have made up your mind by now. Knowing how to make your own beads puts your fate in your hands – and even some extra cash too!
But how can you learn how to make your own beads?
You can sign up for that expensive training session you saw in the papers a couple of days ago but I bet you won’t learn much. Why?
– They won’t offer you a one-on-one session as there’ll be a lot of students and they may want to teach you all at the same time.
– It may be hard to get all you should because they usually teach a large number of students.
– They usually don’t pay attention to details.
So where can you learn to become the best bead maker in town? How can you make great beads and sell them almost as fast as you make them?

Join the online class on WhatsApp I created to teach people how to make beads. Yeah that’s right. After learning what I now know about beading, I’ve always wanted to help other people by passing on my knowledge. I wanted to share what I learnt from the experts. I wanted others to learn from the mistakes I made so that they can avoid making such mistakes. So I came up with the idea of an Online Class for the Bead Experts.

Fancy right? I know. But, why should you even think of joining the class?
– You will have the opportunity to have a one-on-one session with me. It’d be an interactive session where I’ll teach you how to make beads, you can ask questions, I’ll answer and you’ll learn more and become great with beads in record time.
– I’ll not only teach you how to make great-looking, attractive beads, I also teach you how you can sell them, what you should and shouldn’t do.
– After you’re done with the class, you’d have learnt enough to become a teacher yourself. Joining the class is more like a lifelong investment.
– After becoming an expert bead maker, you now have the freedom to make whatever kinds of bead and into whatever kind of style that you want. Freedom of style and time!
– As one of the members of the class, you’d have first access to series of other programmes and classes that will come up after.

With all these benefits, you probably can’t wait to start the class right? But you’re wondering how much it will cost you to join this class, to become a member of this exclusive, one-of-a-kind class and be part of this great opportunity?

Well, I’ve been thinking too. Looking back, I spent a fortune on learning how to make beads. But that’s no reason to charge a high rate right? At least now I know it and all I want to do is try to help others who want to learn about it.
So, I thought to myself, “Let’s make the online class free.” But do you know that if the class was a free-for-all session, you would end up knowing nothing because nothing good comes free. A free class is almost an indication that nothing worthwhile will be taught there and that the student will take the lessons for granted. So it will end up being a waste of time. And time is very precious.
We agree it can’t go for free. Prospective students of this class should pay to get the maximum benefit. But how much?

I came up with a price: ₦5,000, but some of my friends said it was too high. I tried to argue with them that the best stuff don’t come cheap but they quickly reminded me that not everybody can afford ₦5,000 and asked me to be considerate. So I slashed the price in half. Yes I did.
Now, you only need to pay ₦2,500 to gain access to this online class where you’ll get to know all you want about beading.

But being an online class, there are restrictions. You know how certain platforms can only contain a certain amount of people? Exactly. Some platforms have limits so it has to be first come first serve. There should be some sort of reward for early responders to this right?
For early birds, it’s the fattest worm. So, for the first 20 students that will apply, they will pay only ₦1,500. That’s right! ₦1,500, for a one-on-one, teacher-student session with me; to learn lessons that will remain valuable for a life time.

Can’t wait to take advantage of this opportunity? Send a mail to darafunmilayo@gmail.com or call 08091478205 and I’ll give you further instructions on what to do.
Some of you are probably still thinking, “I want to apply before the 20 slots are filled but ₦1,500 is too much now. Can’t she reduce it?”

Let me ask you: How much do you spend on recharge cards alone weekly to make important calls? How about your internet subscription that helps you stay in touch with friends and loved ones? What of your make-up kit that helps you to look beautiful? You probably spend more than ₦1,500 on all of these. Why? Because spending the money is a means to an end! And remember, when you pay your ₦1,500,
– You’ll have the opportunity to have a one-on-one session with me. It’d be an interactive session where I’ll teach you how to make beads, you can ask questions and I’d answer and you’ll learn more and become great with beads in record time.

If you’re still thinking of whether it is too much or not, think of how many people have seen this and have made their own payments already. Remember, the ₦1,500 is only for the first 20 people that apply for and pay for this class. Any delay in making a decision NOW could make you the 21st person and then you’d have to pay ₦2,500 when you could have paid ₦1,500 only. Although you will still be part of the class, remember that an online class HAS LIMITS.
So, if you have made up your mind, send a mail to darafunmilayo@gmail.com and I’ll give you further instructions on what to do.

Make up your mind NOW. Take that decision and make an investment into your future. Remember, no knowledge is a waste. Of course this is not for everybody. It is for those who would rather be the PRODUCERS and CONSUMERS of beads rather than be the CONSUMERS alone.
Imagine this on your business card: Mrs/Miss XYZ, the Bead Expert.
