Kaaba: The Most Sacred Islamic Place In The World Opened For Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerian officials prayed inside the Holy Kaaba on February 25, Thursday, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. For Muslims, the Kaaba is the most sacred place in the world, it is believed to be the “House of God.” The building is opened twice a year for a ceremony known as “the cleaning of the Kaaba.” This ceremony takes place roughly thirty days before the start of the month of Ramadan and thirty days before the start of Hajj.

A small number of dignitaries and foreign diplomats are invited to participate in the ceremony. The leader of the nation prayed for Nigeria at Prophet Muhammad’s Mosque in Medina. He was accompanied by the Governors of Osun, Ogun, Borno, Zamfara and Katsina. Others include NSA, Maj-Gen, Babagana Monguno (retd) and Amb. Lawal Kazaure.
