Ransomware Attacks Are on the Rise
A cyberattack is any offensive maneuver that targets computer information systems, computer networks, infrastructures, personal computer devices, or smartphones.
“71% of UK organizations faced ransomware last year – 13% of them, unfortunately, paid the ransom” Today, I want to share ten pro tips I’ve learned to prevent ransomware attacks.
As cyber threats continue to evolve, protecting ourselves from these attacks is more important than ever.
1. Keep your software up-to-date:
Regularly update your operating system and software to patch vulnerabilities that cybercriminals could exploit.
2. Backup your data:
Regularly back up your data to an external hard drive or a cloud storage service. This way, if your device gets infected with ransomware, you can restore your data without paying the ransom.
3. Use strong passwords:
Use complex and unique passwords for your accounts and change them regularly. Consider using a password manager to help you create and manage your passwords.
4. Be cautious of suspicious emails:
Be careful of opening suspicious emails or clicking on links in them. Always verify the sender’s email address and look for any grammatical or spelling errors in the email.
5. Install anti-virus software:
Install anti-virus software on your computer systems and devices.
