Amal Fashanu, the daughter of former Wimbledon striker John Fashanu, has claimed that she knows seven gay footballers in the English Premier League.
It would be recalled that Amal’s uncle Justin Fashanu at a time publicly claimed to be homosexual before he allegedly committed suicide, and according to Amal, the gay players are all trapped in a “dark world”.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Amal who became a public figure after she starred in BBC Three documentary ‘Britain’s Gay Footballers’ in January 2012, said: “I actually know myself of seven. I will never, ever share their details.
“I’m not going to ‘out’ them because I would never do that.
“You want to be honest, even to help them out, but you just can’t do that. The football world is extremely dark.”
