Actress Rose McGowan says she was recently offered $1 million to keep silent with her Harvey Weinstein s.exual-assault allegation.
The hush-money offer was made by someone close to the creepy filmmaker in exchange for McGowan – one of Weinstein’s most vocal accusers – signing a nondisclosure agreement, the New York Times reported.
“I had all these people I’m paying telling me to take it so that I could fund my art,” said McGowan, 44, who no longer acts.
McGowan, who starred in the Weinstein-produced movie “Scream,” responded by making a counteroffer of $6 million, which she eventually retracted.
